Jade Rollers & Gua Sha Tools; why are they good?
Why are Jade Rollers & Gua Sha massage tools good for the skin?
Jade face rollers and Gua Sha Massage tools can be made of jade or quartz stone; both work by the same mechanism it's actually their massaging effects, not the composition of the stones used themselves, that produce any benefits.
Jade rollers help with everything from sculpting, toning, and firming skin to boosting circulation, enhancing glow, reducing puffiness, minimizing fine lines, improving elasticity, detoxifying, and helping skincare products penetrate better.
How do I use a jade face roller?
In general, jade facial tools can be glided on bare, dry skin, or after application of a leave-on skin care product like a serum or moisturizer to help with product absorption.
To use a jade face roller, move from the center of the face upward and outward so you are rolling the stone toward your lymph nodes, which promotes fluid drainage. It's also been reported that this directional movement helps counteract gravity and lift the skin. Generally, the pressure from jade rollers is more minimal.
For gua sha massage, gently press along your face, moving upward and outward as you do with a jade roller. Some find this technique produces faster results because it's usually done with more pressure.
Some tips & tricks;
• Store your stone in the fridge. Jade stones are naturally cool to the touch, but some people like to store their tools in the in the refrigerator for added coolness that can feel soothing on skin.
• Pair your jade roller with a sheet mask. Jade rollers can be used to smooth on sheet face masks to help them better adhere to skin and add a cooling benefit.
• Regularly clean your roller. Since the tools are being used on your face and can easily spread bacteria, clean them with warm water and soap after use and store in a clean, dry place.
